Ability to change names of "Custom" classification fields?

Post by eggkorki »

I like the "classification" fields and have been trying to come up with the most efficient/practical mix of using them, along with "genre" fields, to organize my music collection. Mainly, what I am using "classification" for are not the preset things like "mood" or "tempo", but rather country of origin, language, or possibly an "über-genre" such as "Pop" or "Rock". However, I tend to forget where I put those entries ("Dammit, which one was it again, custom 1, or custom 2??"), so I would love to have the option to actually change the descriptor of the custom fields. Basically, instead of reading "Custom 1", I would like it to read, for example, "Language".

As is, there doesn't seem to be an option for doing anything like that (right?!), but I would think it would not be extremely hard to implement, although I don't know anything about programming....

Look under Tools / Library / Appearance. It looks as though that may help you.
