Mm not seeing full list of videos and sometimes not viewing

Post by rmm1 »

I have the free version of mm.
For a while I was able to view the videos on my DLNA device ( panasonic Dmr 780) and even save video files to my PC

Now out of the 45 videos on my panasonic , I can only see a list of 36 files.
And now I can't view them nor save them - it says timed out.

Meanwhile I am able to view and play any of the 45 with windows media player, so my access to the DMR is definitely OK

I would happily. Buy the Mm gold but only if I know that I can access all videos and have some guarantee that I can save them.

Are my problems due to the free version?

Thanks in advance

Maybe the file formats aren't supported by the Panasonic?

"Timed out"? Thats telling me its not got enough memory for fast retreving of the file, media monkey is known to use heavy amounts of memory with songs when just using them so video is a bigger format and heavey on memory use, im guessing and saying you have added more videos to youer collection since last time you used mm, thus making mm use more ram to show all the video thumbnails and using all ram up to point where theres not enough to show all but not enough used to make windows clear out the cache file, so you get part of the list, is it always same videos you see or does it change? I would try more ram in your system to allow for a bigger page file, and to allow mm to have more ram instead of using page file i've had same type of trouble when i had too little ram and i just used songs back then, found out mm didnt like to use vert mem, as it did same stuff until i got more ram.

Hi, it sounds exactly like http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=9481 that has been fixed in build 4.0.7

Could you confirm it is fixed in 4.0.7?
Download the RC build from here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 35#p349291

so what was it ? that link only shows us that you fixed a simular error but not what was its cause?

so was it

1. code error in mm program?
2. lack of ram that you were able to fix with a code change in mm coding?
3. something other then 1 and 2 ?

Hi,
I have just tested this on 4.0.7.1510 and still can only see the first 36 titles in the list on my Panasonic BWT800, even though there are some 60 titles actually stored. So I would say it's not yet fixed.

If you find that it isn't fixed you should download the debug version of 4.0.7.1511 (http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 57#p351257) and create a debug log (step 4b) and send it to support so they can analyze why this doesn't work: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=6&t=341

Thanks - from the bugnotes it looks like it didn't make it into 4.0.7 after all - but instead fixed in 4.1.0
http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view. ... 4#bugnotes

Nevertheless I will install the debug build 1511 and send a log if it helps put this issue to bed!

Looking forward to beta testing 4.1.0 :-)

I have just tested on 4.1.0.1609 beta and the problem still exists - only displaying the first 36 titles even though the BWT800 has some 70 titles stored.
I created a debug log which I will send to the helpdesk.
