I am not successful in synching my approximately 4000 tracks to my H10. It works but is excruciatingly slow (taking many many hours). I am now using windows media player and the sync is quite fast but I want to use mediamonkey (gold).
I would appreciate any help! Thanks.
Trouble syncing Iriver H10 (20 gb)
Moderator: Gurus
You guys are probably using the MTP version?
MTP: PlaysForSure technology, When WindowsMediaPlayer was delivered with the H10.
UMS: Universal Mass Storage device, When iRiver software was delivered with the H10.
(see iRiver's explanation: http://www.iriver.com/html/support/faq/ ... rchString= )
(how to know what you have: http://www.iriver.com/html/support/faq/ ... rchString= )
Both have latest versions 2.51
Cheers

After looking at my CD the device came with, yes it is an MTP unit.
Last night I worked on finding out how to get around the slow sync issue and at least found a way to still use MM to take care of my music files and sync my music library to my H10.
EasyH10 http://easyh10.sourceforge.net/
Microsoft SyncToy http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/usin ... nctoy.mspx
With this software combo and using the UMS trick you can use whatever program you like and sync.
I wonder if other H10 (20gb) users are having the same problem? Looking at the iRiver char to determine what device you have, it appears they were all shipped with MTP?
It would be nice if I was missing a setting (or something) in the MM program so I didn't have do the extra two steps -- not that much of a pain, at least I didn't completely throw my money away on MM

iRiver H10 20GB: Recommended?
Hi all,
I've been ripping my CD collection into MM for a couple of months now but have not yet purchased a new, high capacity MP3 player. I'm considering the iRiver H10 20GB but considering what I've been reading on these boards I'm not sure if that's a good move? I'm very interested in knowing:
1. If you've been able to work through the issues you have faced (and how difficult they were to resolve)
2. Do your album art and playlists sync correctly to the H10?
Any feedback appreciated. Thanks!

I don't use my H10-color+radio (5GB) UMS device a lot, so I don't know. But I'm curious too...

H10 PLaylists
I've been struggling with this H10 for three weeks. An hour on the phone with tech support, seveal emails, lots of formatting and UMS issues later, I am surrendering. This thing doesn't work. I can load all the songs I want but the playlists won't go over.
That's a deal killer.
I also tried EasyH10 in UMS mode but it freezes and vanishes just as it's about to do the playlists.
Frustrating.

Problems
I recieved an iriver H10 6GB (EU) for christmas and found it was the MTP version, determined not to use WMP i was glad mediamonkey provided full support for this device.
I then upgraded the firmware from the iriver site to version 2.51 and found the device no-longer appeared in mediamonkey, using UMS mode (hold down next key while plugged into computer and press power button) still workds but I wondered if there were any fixes for this problem.
I am using the latest version of mediamonkey.
Thanks in advance.
