Hi Guys,
I'm trying to make a decision on which software is best for me. I download a lot of FLAC files from places like HD Tracks. I just want to be able to convert those files to WAVE and burn a regular CD as well as convert the same to MP3 for my media player. Can the basic free version of MediaMonkey do this? Thanks...

Re: Converting FLAC to Wave
Why convert to WAVE to burn a CD? If you're burning an Audio CD you don't need to convert as MediaMonkey can burn Audio CDs straight from many formats including FLAC.
As to MP3 conversion it is limited to 30 days in the free version due to licensing restrictions. However you can still convert to other formats. MediaMonkey can do auto-conversion on-the-fly when synchronizing to portable devices. However this is best experienced in the Gold version.

Thanks for the reply. Don't you have to convert the file to WAVE to play on a regular CD player? I'm not into listening music on my computer. It was my understanding that the player had to be able to play the format that disc was encoded in.

That is true, but MM does it automatically when you burn a CD. You don't have to do this conversion manually.culp4684 wrote:Thanks for the reply. Re: Converting FLAC to Wave
OK. Thanks. I wasn't aware that it would do this. It looks like all I would need is the free version if I just want to put FLAC files on regular CD's or make back up copies of my CD's by converting them to FLAC. If I want to put the CD in my iTunes library, I can just load the CD to iTunes.
