Mixmeister BPM analyzer into MM3

Post by koro »

I'm busy to set all the BPM to my Dance numbers with Mixmeister BPM analyzer.
This put's the BPM into the tag...
But when i'm done , i have to rescan my complete collection, because my collection is build up as...
A
|
-AA
-AB
-AC

So like Alcazar - Crying at the... is into A - AL
Is it possible to rescan only selected tracks in MM?

No but if you MM-Gold you can set up MM to monitor your collection to automatically update the database with changes made by other programs.
Advanced Duplicate Find & Fix Find More From Same - Custom Search. | Transfer PlayStat & Copy-Paste Tags/AlbumArt between any tracks.
Tagging Inconsistencies Do you think you have your tags in order? Think again...
Play History & Stats Node Like having your Last-FM account stored locally, but more advanced.
Case & Leading Zero Fixer Works on filenames too!

Hello Bex,

Tnx for the reply..

I know that, but it's an HD with 40.000 mp3's, and it takes more than 1.5h to rescan this...

File monitor catches changes instantly as long as you have MM open at the time the changes are made and the proper folders in the monitor list. I never rescan anything and I'm always ripping CDs, moving torrent files to watched folders for editing, and tagging stuff with Picard. Quite simply, as long as MM is open and the File Monitor is enabled, you never need to rescan anything.

Spacefish,

tnx for the reply...

So if i understand correct, the monitoringscan is only run once. And after that MM detects wich files are changed.

I'll give it a try...

File monitor detects changes made in other applications when MM is running.
The start-up scan catches changes made by other applications when MM was NOT running.

I monitor all my collection but I have disabled the imo time consuming start-up scan. If I make some changes when MM is closed, which I almost never do, I simply rescan the affected folders manually.

Same here and I never make changes while MM isn't running because I'm always listening to music if I'm sitting at my computer.

I have file monitor/startup scan and all similar settings checked to be 'on'. I have one folder monitored by MM called TUNES with a bunch of subfolders (also monitored). MM launches with Windows and I keep it open the entire time.

I moved some subfolders into a new subfolder under TUNES. A few hours later (enough time for MM's monitor function to work), I tried playing some Nas tracks which were located in one of the moved subfolders (remember, all moved folders only moved WITHIN the TUNES folder). MM couldn't play/find the Nas tracks.

Why isn't this function working??????????????

I'd suggest using MediaMonkey to move files (Tools > Auto-Organize Files) as this prevents the whole issue of re-finding files in the first place.

Folder Monitoring with network shares can be problematic for some. MediaMonkey depends on Windows to receive file modification messages so Folder Monitoring can then do its job. This doesn't always happen for network shares. You're always free to create a debug log (step 4b) and send it to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=69
