MMA does not display artwork after power off/on

Post by Keith2025 »

1. I originally found this problem with the basic MMA and changed to the Beta version, but still have the same problem.

2. My device is a new ASUS MeMo7 mod# ME572c, running Android 4.4.2. and MMA Beta Vers 1.1.0.0381. and I am using a Sandisk Extreme Plus 64GB microSD card for storage.

3. My PC is an ASUS, i7-3770 with 32GB Ram, 128GB SSD system drive, and 1TB data drive. I am running Win 8.1 with all updates current, and I am using: MMW Gold Vers 4.1.5.1719

4. My library as synced is 12,162 songs totaling 46.8GB using both MP3 and M4a file types.

5. The problem I am having is - 95% of the time when I turn the device off, then back on none of the artwork is displayed!
Please Note - ALL SYNC is via direct USB and:
A. All files were originally tagged using my MMW Gold to embed the artwork in each file/Tag of the source library.
B. All files were originally synced from MMW and "initially" worked properly in MMA
C. Removing the microSD card and reading/viewing it on a pc Using Windows Explorer to view (as large icons) each song file is shown with the proper artwork/icon. This of course is only possible when the artwork is properly embedded in the tag info.
D. I subsequently tried syncing with album artwork saved to each album folder as a separate .jpg
E. I also synced and removed all artwork >0KB from the tags and only having the album artwork in the folders.
F. Using MMA to rescan "check for new/changed media" takes entirely too long (2hrs +) and most of the time it works, but sometimes it still doesn't properly update.
G. If it still fails after a rescan - I can remove the external folder location, rescan to clear the library, then re-enable the external folder location and scan again. This works everytime -- that is of course until power off/on
H. I also successfully copied the folders\files from the pc directly to the microSD and used MMA to scan with the same results
I. On a rare occasion power off/on = some (very few) artwork is still viewable
J. I have seen a lot of references in the forum to KitKat and SD problems. I do not think these references apply, and I say this because since MM sync does work to the microSD, and initially the artwork is displayed.

6. So in conclusion - All files seem to play properly with no problems, BUT no matter what I do - power off/on = no artwork!!!

Am I missing something???
