Song Startup Delay

I can confirm this is a widely occurring issue. It doesn't always happen but I run an Asus gaming laptop with a samsung 850 pro 1 tb hd. It's a software problem. It might be exclusive to win 8.1, it's hard to say. But i've experienced this on multiple pc's running win 8.1 over the course of 18+ months.

There have been times when I thought it maybe had something to do with the location I was trying to launch the songs from explorer, maybe there were too many loose files in that folder. It's usually either my download folder or straight from the desktop, but after seeing that others have had the same problem idk. You can see media recognize that you're trying to launch a new song a lot of times, it will pull up and just sit there for 30 seconds to a minute before playing the song. I hope someone more knowledgeable finds a fix for this.

I have the same problem - also on an ASUS computer but on Windows 10 and it is EXTREMELY annoying to wait 30 seconds until the next song has loaded (starting from the explorer). I can't find an official answer to this problem, although I read that more than just a few users seem to have this problem. So could somebody please tell how to fix this?

@acm24: do you have the same problem that files which were recorded by audiorecorder in windows xp or 7 are played with an echo?

From Win10 file explorer .. dclick on a track and mm starts right up and plays the song. While song is playing i right-click and play next another track. When the first song completed the second track came right on. It plays it right away after the last track but still there is about 30 seconds from the time that I "play next" until it shows up in the list.

From PowerDesk (Pro 9.3) my preferred filemanager ... dclick takes no time to start but adding a track MM takes about 30 seconds for it to show up in MM 'now playing' display. Odd that it is so consistent in the amount of time ..
