LG Gpad X8.3 Files will not play after Marshmallow upgrade

Post by odinson23 »

Hi,
Long time user of MM.... Yesterday 5/10/16, my LG G pad X8.3 was upgraded to 6.0 Android. All music files appear in SD card and Internal storage but only about 10% have album art and none will play when selected. I understand this is about pointing MediaMonkey to the files but I got a message from the tablet "App manager" saying that "This App was designed for an older version of Android..Denying permission may cause it to no longer function as intended"... Right now the "permission" switch is on, but still no playing of files. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck.... Thanks for any assistance you can lend! Running MM 1.1.3.0554 Lifetime lics. :D

I'd try the latest beta of MMA as it has specific Android 6 fixes related to SD storage: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 33#p422433

The problem is likely from the changing rights management for SD cards between the 2 Android versions.

Thanks Lowlander.... I will try that... However a new situation has arisen.. My trusty iPod Touch 4th gen always worked with MM until I bought a new HP Win7 laptop. My android phone syncs fine with MM on this machine. But iPod "shows up" ok, I set up to convert FLAC to mp3 (as usual) apply the changes and songs appear to leave MM but do not get converted , nor show up in iPod.. So, I reset & restored iPod with iTunes ( latest version) still no dice! Ideas? I am going to double check on an older laptop with older version of MM ( think I have one in the cellar) Ideas? Thanks.....!~

Again I suggest updating to the latest beta as it also includes iOS sync fixes.
