Zen Vision:M Album Art Problem - Even with 2.5.2

Post by Guest »

I've been saving album art from Amazon.com to each individual folder as folder.jpg. Instead of embedding the album art into each mp3 file, I'd rather save space and just leave a folder.jpg in each folder to use as my album art. This way I save ~700kb-1MB per album, and the art is much easier to replace. But even with version 2.5.2 that claims to have fixed ZVM album art problems a few of my albums aren't displaying album art after syncing with the Zen. I've tried resizing and dramatically reducing the problematic folder.jpg file sizes but it doesn't help. It also doesn't make sense that some of my folder.jpg for other albums are high resolution and high file size and work perfectly, while the other album art only works when I manually transfer it using the Creative MediaExplorer software. I've also tried going into the album art properties for the problematic album, removing the album art, adding it again and making sure it's being linked to all the tracks in the album. No luck so far. Does anyone have any suggestions, or is this a bug with MM?

What synchronization mask do you use? Is it

\Music\<Album artist>\<album>\<Track#> <Title>

?

No, I'm using '\Music\<Path:2>'. My resulting folders look like \Music\Arist Name - Album, because thats how I have the directories set up on my hdd. Does the mask make any difference with the album art?

Yes, as far as I remember since the time I debugged this issue, the problem with this device was that all album tracks had to be in the same folder. This should be true for the mask you wrote, however maybe there is some issue with this. Isn't there any pattern in the tracks where album art isn't synchronized?

All of the album tracks are in the same folder, so that doesn't seem to be the problem. I've looked at the problematic album tracks and they are all tagged in uniform.

Then you can e-mail me a debug log with a description of tracks that have album art in MM, but don't in the device. Maybe it will help....

I also cannot get album art to display. I embedded them into the tags, and also then tried a folder.jpg to no avail. Creative says the pic size must be 200x200pixels or less as well. These were transferred in windows explorer

Hmm.. I embed all the art into the tracks as well, and save a folder.jpg as well (because I use windows media center also). All the art always shows up on my vision:m.

How do you remove the album art? In some of my songs, the art is wrong and I just want to delete it.
