Hi folks,
Just downloaded the most recent version of MM Gold. Also, I've changed my NAS/Music server. I thought I had deselected a particular drive from MM. If I go to FILE>ADD/RESCAN FILES TO THE LIBRARY> then only one drive is selected - my new music server. Yet MM still shows files from an older path - to an F: drive.
I thought I had asked MM to clear the database - but that doesn't seem to have done anything.
Can anyone please confirm the order in which I've to do these things, and what will bring me to the position where MM is lookign at just one drive for its files?
Mnay thanks

Clear your database ... do you see anything?
Add/Rescan .. be sure nothing is set to monitor .. .
That should do it ..

Re: Starting from scratch?
Deselecting folders from scanning won't remove their files from the Library. Also make sure it is deselected from both the left (manual scanning) and right side (Folder Monitoring) of the Add/Rescan Files dialog.
You can either remove the drive from the Location sub-node or use File > Clear Database making sure you answer YES (capitalized).

Thanks guys,
So far so good. I cleared ALL the folders, made sure nothing was set to be monitored, and cleared the database with a capital YES.
My only remaining question: after I did this, there is no music showing up in the library - but the player bar down the bottom still has a track selected - and it still plays.
How is MM finding this if there are no folders selected? Is there a player cache somewhere that needs emptying?

Re: Starting from scratch?
Player works independently from the Library and will show last track played. This doesn't reflect the state of the Library and can be ignored.

Re: Starting from scratch?
Hi, this is my first post. I just registered with MediaMonkey, so I can download songs to my brand-new Ipod Shuffle. I don't need any help downloading songs to the Ipod, yet. Here's my very, very basic problem...how do I find the list of songs and albums that I may choose from? Isn't there a "store" or a "library" that list the thousands of songs, that I can pick from? I thought this was akin to itunes where I can go down a list and pick and choose. Thank you, in advance! Scrapiron
Re: Starting from scratch?
Scrapiron ... MMW is designed to work with and maintain your personal library of tunes ( and videos). This isn't like iTunes in the way that there is a 'store' than you download from. So if you have a CD and you wanted to 'rip' the tracks off of the cd MMW has the tool to do that. Then it is in your library.

Re: Starting from scratch?
In MediaMonkey you need to add files to a Playlist and then sync the Playlist (best method) or select and right click on files to use Send To > Device to send them to your device.
