How to change the order of songs on the IPOD?

Hi when I view the contents of my IPOD it shows up in alphabetical order. How can see the actual order the songs will be played on the IPOD? How do I make changes to the track order on my Ipod? It was very easy to do in iTunes but I cant seem to get a handle on this with MM 2.5.2 Pro. Pls help! Thanks.

Is Auto Numbering feature With Masks what you seek?

Something like "<Auto Number:3> <Artist> - <Title>" in Sinchronization options under device settings.

When I synchronize a playlist the order of the songs on the Ipod is not the same. How do I fix this? I am sorry I dont understand the mask thing.

I have set up the Mask in Options/Device Settings/Synchronize Options to be <Auto Number:3> . My playlist still ends up in alpahbetical order on my Ipod. I just want the songs to be played in the same order as my playlist. How do you guys set the order of songs to be transferred to the IPOD? Thanks

in my case the songs on my ipod color are ordered exactly as i order them in MM. so i don't know which settings you use to sync your ipod.

how i do it. for me these setting work fine.

btw. you have to go to the "playlists" node on your ipod to see the ordering which was createt in MM.

I am still unable to control the ordering of the songs on my Ipod Shuffle. I have checked all my settings as per the previous post. I create the playlist with the song order I like then synch and the Ipod plays back a different order of songs. I updated to the latest version. Any Ipod Shuffle users successfully sync songs in proper order? Pls help.

well i don't know the shuffle that good. doesn't it have a switch or someting like that to put it in "ordered" or "shuffled" mode? are there settings possible in itunes that ar stored on the shuffle?
