serious anomaly with track listing (under location node) [#16571]

Post by bdbtbb »

I am using the latest 2245 build just installed this morning on a Win10 Home laptop.

I select a folder under the location node under the Music node.
I select all files, right-click and analyze volume.
As MM5 analyzes each file they disappear from the file list. To be precise, each file seems to disappear after it has been analyzed. When the analysis is finished, there are no tracks at all appearing in the track list for the folder.
I select another folder, then return to the original folder and all the files are there again.

I select a folder under the location node under the Music node.
I click in the rating column to assign a rating. As I do this the track disappears from the track list.

I select a folder under the location node under the Music node.
I select all and right-click to select Play Now.
As the first track starts playing, it disappears from the main track list (not in the Playing list, but in the main window). After that track, each track disappears as it finishes playing - ie., the last-played track disappears from the track list in the main window. When you finish listening to the album, no tracks are left showing in the main track list in the central panel, though they remain visible in the Now Playing list (bcos I have it set to display all played tracks).

Just to clarify, the tracks are disappearing from the central main panel list, not from the Playing list in the right column (everything works fine in there, analyzing volume, assigning ratings, etc., all work as normal in there).

Also, the problems described here do not occur with Playlists. Only when viewing tracks in folders under the Location node under Music node.

See https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuEntbdh7QJAiolFFvW ... g?e=j49cIM for an image showing what the tracklist and now playing lists look like after playing half of an album. You will see that half of the files have disappeared from the tracklist in the central pane, but are all present in the Now Playing list.

tracks disappear from list after volume analysis

Post by bdbtbb »

Build 2256

As with an earlier build a few weeks ago, under Location node, select a folder that has just been scanned for the first time (new addition to collection), select all and right-click for context menu, select volume analysis, as each track is analysed it disappears from the list. Once the whole album has been analysed no tracks are listed. Have to select another folder and then return to original folder to see all tracks back where they should be.

Select all and set rating causes an apparent anomaly (final track appears to double) that immediately corrects itself, and the album is listed normally.

I was unable to reproduce, so a debug log (step 4b) may be useful to capture the exact sequence needed: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 30&t=86643

Hi,

Thanks for rebumping this thread - I didn't realize that I should have posted in this thread as the issue is the same.

With Build 2256, under Location node, after scanning a new album into the collection, I select all using ctrl-a, then right-click and select volume analysis. As each track analysis completes, the track disappears from the tracklist. Once the whole album has been analysed, there are no tracks displayed. Clicking on another folder and then returning to the folder, fixes the problem and all tracks are listed where they should be.

I cannot reproduce this when doing volume analysis on individual tracks - they do not disappear and everything is as it should be. Only experienced this when analyzing multiple tracks.

I'm unable to reproduce. Can you make me a log as Lowlander mentioned ?

Hi

After restarting MM5 and volume analyzing a new album, this error was not reproducible. (But it did happen before I restarted).

Here is a link to the debugview log just in case it might be useful:

I guess it was just a one-off glitch. I had nothing else running apart from my email client and a browser with a few tabs open. Same on the second attempt when I was running debugview.
