Restricted library sharing?

Post by Tippon »

I've set up my MMW library and got everything pretty much the way I want it, and now I want to be able to let my wife access it, but only in a limited way. I want her to be able to create her own playlists and sync them to her phone with MMA Pro, but I don't want her to be able to modify or delete any of my tracks etc. Ideally I'd like her to be able to modify her playlists from the app e.g. delete songs and not have them sync again, but not remove them from the library. She has her own computer and phone, I think with MMW Gold.

Is there a way to do this?

You can do Media Sharing for playing files: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index. ... ervers/4.0 However that won't work well for Sync.

You may want to share the media files (a file share in Windows without write/delete access) and have a separate database for her. Database sharing is also possible, but opens up editing: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/ind ... s--devices

Thanks Lowlander :)

I didn't think about restricted file sharing. I'll give that a try and see how it goes :)
