- random persistent tooltips when leaving MM5 ... see this video ... I have the AllTracks subnode selected in the Media tree. I move the mouse outside the MM5 window (no mouse button pressed, I just move my mouse to another window .. ==> MM5 seems to make some adjustments after I have left the window, and creates a highlite tooltip for the unrelated subnode that passed over as I leaft ... MM5 seems to think I am hovering there ... the highlite tooltip remains visible until I touch the MM window again
- alpha-scrolling in the Media Tree is flaky ... see this video .... I have the Artists subnode selected ... I move focus inside the Artist subnode (ie. click the 1st artist in the opened Artist submode in the Media Tree) ... I type a scroll-to string (in this case I typed "grate" ... without the quotes) ... I expected the Media Tree to scroll down to Grateful Dead ... I type these characters at a steady pace ... the 1st three characters are used as expected ... the last 2 characters ate used to open a contextual filter for "te" ... ===> so the middle panel opens to an artist I was not looking for, and then filters it to something meaningless, so no tracks or albums are displayed
- continuing with the above incident ... the Media Tree has scrolled, but not to anywhere meaningful ... it has scrolled to the first artist whose name starts with G ... But the artist that I am looking for, and the unrelated artist that you displayed for me, are many pages further down the Media Tree
- the above two behaviours are variable ... sometimes it it uses all characters for the (partial) power scroll, and does not open a contextual filter ... other times it just 2 characters for the power scroll, ignores a a couple of characters, and uses the remainder for the contextual filter .... I see get a more reliable response from teh albumartist index, than the artist index. ... I tried typing slower, and faster ... I was unable to get any consistent or useful behaviour
- I cannot get the "focus tree node when browsing content" to work as expected ... can you reply with steps so that I can test the function please ... I can't get it to do anything

2272 - Media Tree issues [#17043][#17045]
I turned on Show All Subnodes in the Media Tree, and see these issues

Re: 2272 - Media Tree issues
I see, the focus is lost using any keyboard navigation, my steps are:
1) Enable 'Show all subnodes' in media tree options
2) Expand Music > Artists
3) Select one artist node and press Down arrow to move down to the next artist
=> Media tree loeses focus and fosuc is auto-switched to the middle view

Re: 2272 - Media Tree issues
Good. I will retest when that is fixed.
It does not seem to account for everything that I am seeing.
In your Mantis entry you say "This bug exists just for Artist and Album Artist subnodes"
I see problem #3 in the Album index. ... I don't think that is related to the bug that you have located.
See here ... I select the Album node, then down arrow to open ... then type the characters ser ... the central panels repositions correctly, but the Media Tree scroll only uses the 1st two characters. ... You can see that both panels are in sync based up my 1st two characters, but then when I type the 3rd character the Media Tree gets left behind.
You can replicate cosmetic issue #1? .... not worth fixing?
And can someone answer my question in #5 please? .... It looks to me that this function is broken ... or I don't understand something?

Re: 2272 - Media Tree issues [#17043]
#5 is there so that it works more like in MM4.
With "Focus tree nodes when browsing content" enabled if you right-click a track > Find More From Same > Artist then the artist node is focused in the tree (Music > Artists node is expanded and the particular artist focused). This results in performance degradation though (and in media tree to become larger and larger when auto-expanding nodes like this), so it is also disabled by default.
But as you find in #3 the scrolling to currently focused node in the media tree is somehow broken, I can replicate it too (even when testing #5), must be a regression, looking into it...
EDIT: Fixed as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=17045
It was recent regresison in 2270, thanks!
EDIT2: And during testing I found another issue, fixed as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=17046

Re: 2272 - Media Tree issues [#17043]
Thanks for explanation, but I can't replicate any of that behaviour. No movement in the Media Tree, and no auto-expanding of nodes ... Maybe it is currently disabled due to associated bugs?Ludek wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 9:43 am #5 is there so that it works more like in MM4.

btw your description of behaviour is a small subset of what I was predicting from this control. ... You mean it is just tied to FMFS navigation? ... I would have expected that it would have been triggered by other forms of navigation in the main panel ... the control name could be changed to "Focus tree based upon FMFS navigation", with a tool tip to explain what FMFS refers to. ... a by-product of that would be to make familiar with the FMFS abbreviation, which is used on occasion in the Support Forum.
I have never seen that issue.Ludek wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 9:43 am EDIT2: And during testing I found another issue, fixed as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=17046

Re: 2272 - Media Tree issues [#17043]
Both #3 and #5 are affected by #17045 -- regression in 2270
So you would need to test either pre 2270 build or 2273 once is available
#5 is not for FMFS only, it is for any navigation (clicking a link in the Preview window, clicking Album Artist link in album's info panel etc.). Also clicking the nodes in grid views etc. So the wording is fine.
