[SOLVED] MM windows resize/ jump when scanning
When I open MediaMonkey and it does a scan, the windows resize really fast because a status bar is being displayed and hidden really quickly. I know there was a forum entry raised about this in the past but I can't find it now and anyway I couldn't get that solution to work for me. How do I stop this happening? I love MM and have been using it for nearly 20 years but this problem has only recently started happening and I can't seem to fix it. I'm sure it must be a simple fix but I've not found it yet. Thanks.

Hi,
It is normal when you expand Progress bar, try to catch it with right click and minimize.

Re: MM windows resize/ jump when scanning
Thanks. To make sure we understand each other:
There is a status bar for the file monitoring. That seems to be fine. But there is another bar which appears above that with no text which instantly hides again, on and off until monitoring finishes. I have tried maximising and minimising the monitoring status bar - makes no difference. I have tried many times to right click on the unknown status bar but with no success. Are you saying that I should be able to right click on the unknown status bar and then have an option to minimise it?

Yes, it should have that option. It may be a challenge to catch though if it disappears quickly.

Re: MM windows resize/ jump when scanning
Thank you for your reply. I don't think it is possible to click the unknown status bar. It is visible for half a second or so and repeats regularly, so sometimes I can have 100 or so attempts to click on it at different intervals and nothing happens. What is it the status bar for? That might give me a clue as to what else I could try to turn on/off.

Hi,
Number of tracks and right click to Analyze volume, it should keep it bit longer.
Status bar is often referred to background progress bar so that user have feedback on state of background jobs in application.
If you do not mind setting up UI again use https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/kno ... interface/ to reset MM UI

Re: MM windows resize/ jump when scanning
Thanks, your comments got me on the right track. I decided not to wipe all the interface settings as suggested in that link but tried just deleting the status bars (after doing a backup of those keys) and it solved the problem. I.e. I backed up then deleted all the keys at Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MediaMonkey\StatusBars.
