deleted playlist tracks re-appear [#17498]
Playlists are populating with deleted tracks. When I either delete a song from a playlist, it disappears. But when I leave the playlist and return, deleted songs are back. Not all songs re-appear immediately. They might stay deleted for several switches out of and back into the playlist, only to re-appear. In earlier beta versions, this would only happen to songs that were copied to another playlist and deleted from the source playlist. Since RC 3, the problem is recurring at random. Verified on 2 windows 10 PCs.
Re: deleted playlist tracks re-appear
Capture the deletion and re-appearing in a debug log (step 4b) and attach the log to a Support Ticket: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=86643

Re: deleted playlist tracks re-appear
We cannot replicate, some others questions:
1) If you press F5 to refresh the playlist, do the tracks disappear?
2) If you restart MM5 after the tracks re-appears: Are they still part of the playlist? i.e. is it refresh issue or permanent change?
3) do you have a synchronization with devices enabled that could somehow bring the playlist content back?
If yes, could you temporarily disable to eliminate this as a possible cause?
4) Do you have folder monitoring enabled that could pick up an M3U playlist?
If yes, could you temporarily disable to eliminate this as a possible cause?
5) Did you have MMS installed?
If yes, could you temporarily disable to eliminate this as a possible cause?
Thanks!

Re: deleted playlist tracks re-appear
The error is back. I'll run logs tomorrow, but:
tracks disappear with F5, but re-appear when I leave playlist and come back. No syncing or folder monitoring, and I disabled MMS.
So I thought to re-open a playlist in a new tab after I deleted some songs. The deleted songs are not deleted in the version in a new tab. I have the same playlist open in 2 tabs, and one still has deleted tracks in it. I grabbed screen shots too.

Re: deleted playlist tracks re-appear
And if you press F5 in the other tab, does it show the correct version of the playlist?
So is it just UI refresh issue or the tracks are really re-added somehow and are part of the playlist even after MM5 restart ?
Debug log and screencast video would definetly help to shed some light on this.

Re: deleted playlist tracks re-appear
Yes they're appearing even after refresh. I even did a clean remote install with no MMS. It eventally appeared after I started copying songs from playlist 1 to 2, and then trying to delete them from list 1. Delete works fine for some time, then the problem starts. It's definitely connected to copying songs to other lists. It doesn't happen if I just delete tons of tracks. Tracks copied from list1 to list2, then deleted from list 1 seem to not delete from 1 on refresh.
I'm going to run debug and screencast as soon as I get the chance today. This is a monster problem for me because of how I work, so I'm happy to help solve it. I create a playlist of 1000 songs from recently added to a playlist 1. I listen to them, moving the ones I like to other playlists, and deleting them as I go. One note - in some of my test lists, I have yet to see the problem appear in a list with under 600 tracks. I'll verify that as well. I have a similar process for artists: creating large rough playlists and then breaking those down to smaller ones. I'm finding the same re-population problem with those lists, on multiple PCs with the recent RCs. I've optimized the db, but I've only used the same one for all tests. Could it be some corruption? It's originally from mm4.
