Checking on 5.0.1.2433 it opens the Tree as expected each time I use it.
If you can reproduce on the latest release, please capture it in a debug log and attach the log to a Support Ticket: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=86643

Since that brief success I haven't gotten Collapse the Tree to work for me at all. Should I submit a ticket for that as well?

Yes, if you can capture it in a debug log please attach a log of it to a Support Ticket.

Is this still a good place for requesting more missing hotkeys?
In MM4 (and most web browsers) the Ctrl-W combination would close a tab. I don't think it was an actual configurable hotkey, but I used it all the time. Can that be added back to MM5?
