Using 5.0.3.2609 Global Search does not found any text (e.g. Berglund). However carry out an Advanced Search all Berglund are found.

Which Search Mode are you currently using and which fields is Search allowed to search? Advanced Search bypasses the field selection in the Search options.

Search mode is; Ignore Diacritics/ Match beginning of words
Which fields are allowed: nearly all (Berglund is artist and artists are allowed)

Btw. I used to upload images https://imgbb.com/
first I upload an image and I've got an link (e.g. https://ibb.co/8jHrSWT)
this link I insert

Code: Select all

[img]https://ibb.co/8jHrSWT[/img]
However I do not see the image within my post? What is wrong?

You didn't use the BBCode version from ibb, which is required to show images in this forum.

I'm unable to reproduce the problem on 2609. Have you tried to optimize the database and/or rebuild full text search index: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHel ... ibrary/5.0

There is a big bug in the global search on 2609.

https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 62#p495062

Try re-installing 2608 and see if it works there. That fixed it for me.

Respect diacritics / Match within words will not find André Rieu when searching Andre Rie or ndre Rie (you'll need to search for André Rie to find a André Rieu as search matches special characters and requires the start of the word).
To start with, the sentence construction is tortuous, and requires needless re-reading to parse it.
And the example is poorly constructed, because the two examples which fail are both excluded by the missing acute accent on the e, whereas you seem to be trying illustrate two different things.
So maybe I am confused.

But AFAICS it implies by its examples, and explicitly states in the last 7 words, that this sort option only matches using the start of any word.

So for example you seem to be saying that if I wanted to find The Rolling Stones:
  • I can use any or all of those three words
  • but I always need to start from the beginning of any word that I do use
  • eg th .. or ro ... or sto ... are all OK to find The Rolling Stones
But that is the opposite of what this option offers.
It allows for any part of any word, and does not require the start of any word that it uses
  • eg the letters one will find the Rolling Stones
There is some other way to understand what you wrote?

BTW I realise that you wrote a lot of words to populate the MM5 help, and MM5 help improves upon MM4 help, and the MM5 UI is difficult to document because it is quirky and internally inconsistent, and it was difficult because you did not have the safety net of beta testing.
Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.

There is still a problem with the different quotation marks.

1. Title tagged from MusicBrainz:
Don’t Dream It’s Over
2. Tagged manually
Don't Dream It's Over

No diacritics /whole words or beginning:
1. only appears in the search results with Copy&Paste from the Title property field
2. works as aspected

Could it be a solution, if you add the ’ quotation mark to the list of diacritics?
