New to MM - Help with "0" Before Song Titles [#19348]
I'm new to MediaMonkey and new to this forum. I'm learning to use the program and really like MM at this point.
I've searched the forum and haven't been able to find an answer to my question. The track number displays correctly, but some of the song titles have a "0" before the song title. What does this mean and how can I correct it?
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

In the Title field? If not, where exactly is this shown?

Re: New to MM - Help with "0" Before Song Titles
I attempted to post a screen shot but was not permitted. The problem shows-up in the Album view when looking at the song listing for the album. Some albums have the “0” at the beginning of the song title when looking at the song list.

Is this when you are playing the track?RJDavis-OK wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 8:34 pmI've searched the forum and haven't been able to find an answer to my question. If so the track name displayed at the time is is configurable
Go to Tools>Options>Player>PlaybackRules ... see here
The Display Format box (#3) controls what is displayed.
In my case it configured like this
Code: Select all
$if(<Album Artist>,<Album Artist> - ,)$if(<Album>,<Album> - ,)<Title>
That is decoded as being:
- if the track has an albumartist tag then:
- print the albumartist tag
- and a blank and a dash and a blank
BTW: The rules are explained here.
Or, if the 0's are displaying when you are browsing the track, make sure it is not caused by something like this.
Otherwise, what do you see in the title tag for those tracks?
- ie. click one track, then right click and take option Properties.
Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.

Try switching View to List, it will show which columns are shown. It seems you may have this value in the Title field, but the screenshot doesn't show that.
You can check the Properties of a file shown there and see if you see that 0 in any field it shouldn't be.

Re: New to MM - Help with "0" Before Song Titles
You're correct - I'm using the browser view. When I switch to the list view, the track number and the "0" disappears. I've looked through the properties and haven't found anything yet. I've got one album with a song that has the "0" and one song without it. I cycled back and forth between the two looking at the properties and found nothing different other than what I expected (title, artist, etc.). I'll inspect the properties closer. For what it's worth, most of my library does not have this issue.Lowlander wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 11:40 am Try switching View to List, it will show which columns are shown. I've added the Tract # to the List view and this solves the problem - I'll just use List view in the future. Thanks for the help!

I'm unable to reproduce this on 2661. Adding a BPM, doesn't show the value in front of the Title.

My error. I deleted the post that you responded to, so that I could amend it, but you got there first.
The tag was I was thinking of was Episode #.
OK, with your screenshot I now remember the issue.
That specific screen displays the Episode # tag for some unknown reason. See here. I reported the issue during the MM beta
The Episode# tag is used for Video media... ie. the episode number of a TV series.
It is unavailable in Music tracks.
I am guessing that your track has an Episode Tag for some reason.
To check this with one of your problem tracks you need to:
- change the Type of the track to Video
- apply that change, and then go back into the track ... check whether the track has an unwanted Episode number, if so remove it
- revert the track back to Music

Re: New to MM - Help with "0" Before Song Titles
I can confirm: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=19348
You do need to have the Type set to a type supporting Episode# at some point for this to occur.
