Visualization does not appear [#19542]

Had this above issue for a while, and never thought to ask about it:

I tried selecting visualization in the preview window - shows blank

I tried maximizing that window - shows blank

I tried numerous different visualizations - all show blank

I tried the menu - view, visualization.

I changed player from waveform to progress bar - makes no difference

I looked for any settings related to visualization - found none.

Using 2682, same for me in previous version 2670 etc

Does this still happen after a PC restart? Which version of Windows?

Yes, persists after restart, using windows 10, latest updates, 22H2.

I'm pretty sure I have seen visualizations some time back on this same computer.

ps Just noticed I was using the wasapi output plugin as a test for my chromecast issues, so I switched back to direct sound, and that also does not help.

If you go maximize of full screen on the visualization, does it still fail (or are you even able to do this)?

Does Visualization work on a clean Portable Install of 2682?

I fingered it out!!

When I play to Chromecast speakers, visualization does not work

When I play to internal speaker it DOES work just fine.

Not sure if there is a reason for that?

Should I not be able to see the visualization on screen at the same time as hearing sound from the external speaker?

I don't use Chromecast speakers.
My connection is via bluetooth to a BOSE Solo5 speaker.
Again, there are no problems with the visualization.
I tested this again.

I assume the technical reason is that the sound isn't processed locally, thus the Visualization has nothing to work with.

Oooops - never tried multi-zone before - it does not work for me.

It produces a rapid succession of "multi-zone cannot decode" errors until it reaches the end of the playlist.

The only other choices showing are internal player and living room speaker, both of which now work fine individually.

Any ideas what to try?

Hmmm, I tested and it worked for me. Interesting Debug log will be very useful.

It produces a rapid succession of "multi-zone cannot decode" errors until it reaches the end of the playlist.

Along with above, in this case FULL debug log is a must to see what is going on as even on Multi-Zone transcoding must be done. I guess Something for @Ludek to analyze.

Again, a full debug log would show what is going on.

Actually only one. We need full debug log (Compressed in Ticket) as this behavior you describe should not happen, especially as before I suggested it I tried on my system (Few MM5 PCs, Google/Asus Nexus player). After that I am not sure what you can try because it is on us to find explain what happened fix the issue.
