Lyrics auto-tag showing html code?

Post by Smith10 »

Hello Folks, I have 5.0.3.26.27 which MM is telling me is the current version when I tell it to check for updates. I have Gold Lifetime.

I have tried searching last 6 months of lyrics queries here on the forum, but it's a lot of posts.

I notice a few strange things happening with lyrics.
It searches for lyrics and will often show the beginning of the lyrics then will have some code, for example

<div data-exclude-from-selection="true" class="InreadContainer__Container-sc-19040w5-0 cujBpY PrimisPlayer__InreadContainer-sc-1tvdtf7-0 juOVWZ

Another (possibly related error?) comes if I go into the Properties of a song and under Lyrics tab click the "Lookup Lyrics" icon. It will sometimes bring up the lyrics previously found for another song. It will give those lyrics as the search result for any song I select. It seems to clear out this search result when I close and re-start MM.

I am on Win 10 Build 10.0.19044

I am not exactly sure when this first started, because I only tweak lyrics on the weekends, but it has been a few weeks.

Also, would this issue be corrupting my database file?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks,
Kimberley

First thing, you need to wait just a few hours or days for the latest version 5.04.x to be released.

Or download latest beta from this forum if you are less patient. Many are using it now. Just install over what you have now.

MM has come along ways since last release!!!

Checking on the latest MediaMonkey 5.0.4 build I don't see this.

Go to Tools > Properties > Lyrics for a file that is affected and use the Search icon. Try to see which source is causing this for you. You can click on the Search icon after each lookup so it goes to the next service. Repeat till you see the problem.

I was just in fiddling with it again and it gave me a really long error window and asked if I wanted to start in Safe Mode. I did so and the next tune it found the lyrics and they were complete. I re-started it again and in looking at 2-3 songs, I don't see the strange code in the lyrics, so I am not sure that was about.

I think I will wait until the 5.04 release next week. Very excited.

Is it recommended to install it right over the prior or should I back up my db file and then remove MM from Windows and install afresh?

Thanks!

Install on top, however a backup of the database is never a bad idea.

Hi,
Install on Top of existing it is Regular bugfix/stability/no major features added update.

Major updates are MM4 -> MM5 Major changes in app often recommended to install in separate folders
Minor updates are MM5.0 -> 5.1 New functions and features that can influence previous behavior (Like Chromium updates, behavioral UI changes, DB changes, ...) We note when Uninstall is recommended/suggested/needed
Regular updates MM5.0.3 -> 5.0.4 with non essential features changes and number of smaller new features/fixes along with stability and bugfixes.
Best regards,
