Title jump when editing a title

Post by Roemerli »

I have to work a lot in my MM database on albums and titles. Of course, I like to listen to music in MM while doing this work.
My problem is the following: When I am working on a track and the song playing in the background is over, MM always jumps to the album in the middle view, that is, in the main area where I am working, where the next song is then played.
This is of course fine as long as you are not working on another album.
Is there perhaps a switch or a way I can tell MM that I am in edit mode and don't want this jumping to the album next song display?

On a related note, it's amazing that MM doesn't always exhibit this behavior and I can't figure out what the reason is.

When I select an album to edit, I do it directly in the folder, as on the hard drive on the left side of MM. I also select the album currently playing in the background directly. Is this the reason?

Thanks for a tip

Would this be happening when you're in the Playing node?

Thank you for your feedback.
Yes, here too. There are moments that are incomprehensible to me, MM does not jump to the currently playing album, but stays with the one currently being edited.

A screencast may help explain this better.

What View is the Playing node set to when this happens?

Thanks a lot for your help.

I am working on the folder/album: "874946000420" which after tagging has been renamed to 874946000420_Branford Marsalis_Braggtown.
Currently I have entered the title "Blakzilla". After all the titles are entered, an overall selection is made and album, artist, rating for the album are all done uniformly.

While I am doing this, I am listening to the album "8436028692644_Ahmad Jamal_Complete Live At The Pershing Lounge 1958" further up in the background. Of course, the album I am listening to may be much further away.

You can clearly see in the video that while the focus is in the window of "874946000420" and yes I continue to work there, at the end of a track from the album "8436028692644_Ahmad Jamal_Complete Live At The Pershing Lounge 1958", MM immediately jumps to the next track of the album (logical), but also focuses on the playback album in the middle window where I am working. I spend several hours working through the files that have not yet been tagged, and I still have a long way to go. It would be great if there was something like an edit mode where this behavior would not be and I could continue to work on the album being edited at my leisure.

Thanks for tips and the great help here.

That explains it, it's a change of node in Folders in the Media Tree. Please capture this in a debug log (step 4b) and attach the log to a Support Ticket: viewtopic.php?t=86643

Maybe this hint will help even more:

If I tagged an album and finally renamed the folder from for example "828768121429" to "828768121429_Rue De Paris_Quiet Motion" in MM, then MM always jumps up by one two albums in the nodepath links.
