Hello, I searched and could not find any posts related to this issue. I am attempting to play some AIFF files that a friend shared with me. Some have worked just fine but others I get the unable to decode error. They play just fine in Foobar and VLC media player.
I attempted to convert them to FLAC, and I got "MM is unable to decode this format" error.
This is music that was not released in the US and I think out of print, so I can't go out and buy it. Any suggestions? I'm not sure where to start.
Thank you!

Any updates about this issue?
Re: AIFF MM cannot decode error
Hi,
It was incorrectly picked up and flagged by eSupport platform.
I Elevated the issue and filed under https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=20117
Thank you for patience and bumping the topic, it should be handled ASAP now.
EDIT: Brief look and preliminary tests appears to reveal that files contain ID3v2 tag inside AIFF format structure, that is non standard Metadata and prevents MM to play the files. Assigned to Dev for deep analyze.

Re: AIFF MM cannot decode error [#20117]
ID3v2 tag inside AIFF format is standard and supported by MM5.
The files were in AIFC/sowt format, I added support for this format to the next beta build, so Apple QuickTime is not needed for playback.

Re: AIFF MM cannot decode error [#20117]
Great - nice work!
I have not previously encountered AIFC/sowt. From a Wikipedia article, it appears that AIFF-C/sowt is the MacOS standard file type, which probably should be .aifc (not clear to me why they are .aiff if they should be .aifc). If I change the extension, would it work in MM now?

Hi,
No, there was no decoder enabled in MM as we have never had reports on such files.
