Remove file NOT working

I am using MM 5.0.4.2690 (according to check updates, the most current version).
I have file I want to remove. In the 'mini player', I drop down the file list, select the file, right click and click 'remove'. I get a popup telling me to 'select a file'
Opening the full MM player window, I goto the file I want to remove, select the file, right click and click 'remove'. I then get the popup asking to verify the level of the removal. I click 'ok' and the file is NOT removed.
I did find a similar problem, but my file IS NOT in use (being played), I know an open file cannot be deleted.

I'm unable to reproduce on the latest 5.1 beta.

Can you please either test that or let us know if the problem persists when MMW 5.1 is released?

Seems unlikely to me this would be a version problem with 2690. There are way too many current or recent users who would be complaining.

Seems more likely to me something specific is going on here. So I would like to ask - is this only one specific file that refuses to delete, or is this for all tracks you have?

I am wondering if this file is somehow locked. Have you tried a restart of the computer and then try it again?

Can you find and delete this same file in windows file explorer? Is it an mp3 file or some other type?

I have the latest MM5, yet I have the same problem. I can delete the files in Windows, but they won't delete in MM5.

Are you saying you have a problem with files deleted in File Explorer still showing in MediaMonkey? That's a different thing and expected.

You'll need to rescan with the setting to remove unavailable items enabled or have Folder Monitoring running while deleting files.

Maybe you can try it with shift+delete

I am trying to delete mp3 files on MM 5(latest) from a usb connected mp3 player. In MM 5 I right click, then tick 'delete'. After refresh in MM 5, the files re-appear. Deleting files on my connect mp3 player only works in file explorer, not MM 5.

So, the problem is removing files from a USB connected player in MediaMonkey? Which Build (Help > About) and what device is it?
