[1816] [Regression] Menu items unavailable [#20252]

Just installed 1816. The menu items for the menu bar don't show up.

When I click on any of the items (File, Edit, View, ...) the item just becomes highlighted and doesn't show the menu items.

Windows 11.

Can you please be more specific on how you opened menu, as Menus for me Auto expand on mouse over and I do not need to click to open, actually when I click Menu closes? Do you maybe use keyboard to navigate Menu?

Using 1816 for me - menus function as they do in other programs.

Click on any menu header once, and the menu expands, you can move down and select an item, or then you can hover over other headers and they expand, the original closes, Click menu header again, and it closes too.

The menu doesn't auto-open when I move the mouse over it (the background changes colour) and nothing happens when I click on it

I thought I had reproduced, but no, it's working here too.

So I re-installed 1816-debug just to be sure.

And of course the behaviour has changed, now the menu items open when I click on one.

But! Auto-open doesn't work by default. It starts working once I've clicked on an item ???

That would seem to be normal behavior. Other programs also don't this, until you click the first menu item. Then mouse over will switch the menu to that item (and MediaMonkey does this for me).
