MM Search can only search entire media base ?
My database is structured around media/music types eg, Classical Music is in a Windows Folder "Classical Music". I am trying to find a way to use search to only search a specific data group such as "Classical Music". Is that possible?

Yes, display the subset you want to search in the main window - ie any playlist, or just your classical, or whatever. This can be done by selecting a specific folder in the folders node in the left pane or media tree. Then make sure focus is in Main Window, ie click something, then start typing in midair your search terms.
You will see a hidden window appear above the main window with your search terms in it, and the main window itself should filter to include only those items from the original display which match your search.
Still beyond me why they keep hiding this search box.....

You can also do an Advanced Search where you can set more criteria the Search is limited by.

Re: MM Search can only search entire media base ?
Thanks Rob_S,
You pointed me to the solution. The only difference for me is that the search icon (magnifier) is there (top right) in my set-up. In my library I use "Type" to identify Classical Music. I selected Home which cleared the Main window, selected Classical Music from the tree. This populated the main window. I the clicked the search icon and from the drop down box selected "Advanced Search". This opened the search criteria box where I used 'Type = Classical" to restrict the search to Classical Music.
One thing that I find strange is that "Album" is not a listed search item. For example "Album" contains Sonata" I suppose I will have to resort to setting up a Custom search item.

No, not that one, the top right search box is a global search, and does not limit itself to the contents of the middle or Main Window.
What you want is the Secret Hidden search box top LEFT of the centre main window. To find it you must click anywhere in the main window on a blank area, and then type any character, and you will see it open up like the other search box. This box searches only within the existing content of the main window, or whatever you have displayed there.
Again, first display those tracks you want to search within in the Main window, then type your search.
I believe to search within the "Album" field, you could use the "Album/Series/Podcast" parameter. This is strange to me as well, why not just have an "Album" item there???

Now Rob,
How on earth did you find it! That makes it all much easier. I see the drop-down to Advanced Search is there to. Thanks again.

Global Search can be used to do the Contextual Search if you use arrow and set it to Search current view.

OK, now I learned something new today. This is indeed another way to open the left hand main window search box!!!
It appears to be only available if I have not yet typed anything into the global search.
Also I added this note while you were already responding
