App keeps playing after I close it

Post by JorgeDV »

As the title say, when I close the app it keeps playing. The only way I can stop the music is by reopening the app and pressing pause, which makes me think the app is keeping permanently open in the background.

Is this the intended behaviour? Is there a way to get the app to truly close when I close it? I've looked in the settings but I haven't found anything.

EDIT: I should clarify, I have the setting in Options > General > Allow MediaMonkey to run in the Background disabled, but it doesn't make a difference. The app still keeps playing after I close it.

Yes, that would be expected. You'd need to pause/stop playback if you want to stop playback.

The background app setting is for permanent background, not for closing apps immediately when closing them.

Thanks for replying.

Really? All other audio apps I have tried so far stop playing sound when I shut them down. It seems more intuitive to me that if I close an app it means I'm done with it, and I don't want any audio that it's playing to keep playing. If I wanted that, that's what minimizing is for, in my opinion. It seems like it makes closing the app a bit meaningless, and it turns what should be a one step process into two steps unnecessarily.

Anyway, that's just my opinion and I guess it's not a deal breaker for me, but I do find it strange. I'll just have to get used to it.

Hi,

That depends how you look at it. I for example hate when I use BACK on phone and accidentally press it too many times to go outside app it stops/closes app. Which means it interrupts my playback. With MMA I can always just press STOP from Notification bar which also closes MMA (if Allow MediaMonkey to run in the Background is disabled).

NOTE: You need to pay for YouTube Music for same function MMA gives for Free.
