MMW says all files inaccessible

Post by Moviecane »

Yesterday morning, I was able to play my entire library from MMW with no problem. Yesterday evening, I tried to play some songs and discovered that all songs are showing as grayed out, and if I try to play them from within MMW, I get an error that they are inaccessible. I did not make any software changes yesterday. If I click on one of the files in Windows Explorer, it starts playing in MMW. MMA still works without a problem, same files. I do not have Gold, so locate is not enabled. If I rescan, it says there are no new files. I've been using MMW for years, and never had this problem before. Any advice would be appreciated.

Please read: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/kno ... s-to-play/

Check the Paths of the files in MediaMonkey. They likely are not matching the paths of the files on your PC (could be missing drive letter).

OK, Lowlander, that was a good call. It is showing the name of the drive instead of the letter. So it says [Files Disk]\Users instead of D:\Users. I don't know how that would have changed randomly during the day, but is there a way to fix that in bulk?

Yes, with re-assign drive.

Are you using a Mapped or external drive?

My drive is mapped, internal.

Your link did the trick. Thank you so much! I was afraid I was going to have to do something manually for thousands of files.
Have a great day!
