Random song added to playlist

I've got a playlist that is working fine on MMW but in MMA a random song is being added. The song doesn't meet the playlist criteria and I've added extra criteria to exclude the song artist and title, but it still is randomly being added on MMA but not MMW. I've also tried removing it from the playlist but it gets readded after syncing (although not after every sync). It's always the same song added and always in the same place in the playlist

Running MMA 2.0.5.1248 and MMW 2024.1.0.3113

MMA doesn't use Criteria as it doesn't support AutoPlaylists at this point. Thus you can manually add files to the Playlist in MMA, but not in MMW. Could this have happened?

Thanks, sorry I wasn't clear. The song shouldn't be in the MMW playlist since it doesn't match the criteria (and I haven't seen it there). But the issue seems to come up occasionally after MMA refreshes the playlist after a sync.

On your suggestion - pretty sure that's not it. I've done long press, remove from playlist. But while it stays gone for one or two syncs it then returns. Don't think it's an accidental add either because it's always the same song in the same place in the playlist

Is there a change the Playlist exists in this modified state on your device, and that MMA scanning picks this up at some point?

Not quite sure what you mean. The songs never been in the playlist in MMW and I added some extra rules so that it's excluded on multiple grounds. I've manually removed the song from MMA playlist whenever I see it there but it seems to reappear after I sync with MMW. I did a check for new/changed media on MMA after removing the song to check if it was that or the sync, but it didn't show up then, so I'm guessing it's something as part of the sync.

Hi,
Locate track in MMW and right click on it -> Properties -> Classification Tab where you will see if it is in some playlists.

Are you sure Sync is causing the file to appear in the Playlist? If you're certain, are you sure the file really isn't in the Playlist in MMW (do make sure you're looking at the same Playlist in MMA and MMW)?

I've checked the classification in MMW and it's in a different playlist but not the one its showing up in.

And on the sync issue - that's a guess. It seems to happen after sync but I can't guarantee that's a cause. But yes I'm 100% certain its not in the playlist in MMW. I've checked before and added a second criterion that would exclude it.

Unfortunately you'll need to find the pattern of when it appears, then there is something to go on for debugging.

Wow...this is really weird. I wonder: could it be that this track is synced (via some other playlist), and that a playlist generated from some other app on your device has the file in the playlist? That could occur if you have Options > Library & Sync > 'Update playlists from other apps' enabled.
