Album art disappeared after sync [#19690]
I'm also having a similar problem. On the desktop software, I noticed suddenly many of the album arts which I'm positive were previously set were suddenly showing blank, and then the system starts filling them in with the little disk icon present if I want to save it. But these were all already set and it seems like they've been lost. I don't even want to sync my phone or ipod now for fear it will erase all the art from those devices where it is still present. Some artists seem to still have their art, while it has been completely wiped out for others.

As another user (ie not tech support person) I suggest the following:
First, with media monkey NOT running, use windows file explorer to locate your music files. If you display then using large icons, the icon should show the embedded artwork. However, I think this may in some cases be cached from previous viewings.
When you select a particular track, if it contains embedded artwork, windows will display it in the "Details" pane. This is more definitive, as it gets loaded from the track itself. Also, if your tracks are located in folders by album, you might have one single art file in that same folder, whic should be OK as well
If there is no artwork for the tracks in question, you could check if a track copied back from one of your synced or backup locations DOES have such artwork.
If you find a set of tracks that does contain the artwork, then I suggest making a backup copy of these on a portable drive or on the cloud so you don't lose any more, and of course copy them back into your music folder on the PC, if it is not there. Caution if you have used MM facility to downsample tracks when syncing, that you aren't copying back lower quality files.
Then next, I would go and download/install the latest beta copy of Mediamonkey, which has had quite a few bugfixes since the release version.
If the tracks or album folders contain artwork, then an add/rescan using mediamonkey should detect and display it.
Then, look at the settings you might have for updating tags when editing properties.

I think it was a mix of both. I have art in the music folders directly from older stuff, but then I also had many that I had searched and set in Mediamonkey directly, so I assume those would just be tags?
I'm running 2024.1.0.3113

Re: Album Art Disappearing from Library
That depends on your settings, MediaMonkey can do either.
You may want to check if you can find external Artworks in folders for files that don't show it in MediaMonkey to confirm the Artwork really exists.
