I have tried in different places. When @Peke has time, I think he is going to do a remote. Basically, after casting to receiver, playback counter toggles back and forth from 0 to 1 and 1 to 0. The first track finishes and playback halts at that point.

Yes. These specific issues seemed to have resolved. Of course, more testing might reveal more.
