FYI: Preview undock https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=20428 and synced lyrics support is already implemented, will be in the next version (2026)

Will it be possible to change the Font size within the Preview Panel,
just like in the Lyrics Panel (works with plugin)?
And a shortcut there (buttons?) to change Speed & Pitch settings (when an audio file plays) as well.
I think then we can say goodbye to MiniLyrics frankly speaking.
Why then is there still a separate Lyrics panel, if we can do it all within Preview?
What was the initial thought for that?
Re: Minilyrics support?
I apologize I am a little late to this discussion. I am writing to get clarification with respect to lyrics. I have my hifi sound system connected to my TV. I stream MM2024 via Chromecast to the TV so I can get the sound quality through my hifi sound system as opposed to the computer speakers. My question is this - is there a way that MM2024 can stream the lyrics to the TV. Currently, I get the album artwork, song name and artist. I had read MiniLyrics is compatible with MediaMonkey and can stream the lyrics, but wanted to make sure before I add it and have it mess up my MM library. In summary, is there a way to display the lyrics in MM to my TV when I stream via Chromecast? Many thanks, Chris
Re: Minilyrics support?
Hi,
If you would like to help us and speed things, then if you know any PC application that can do that (no matter of quality) please let us kno wand we will investigate if something similar can be implemented in MM.
Unfortunately no, because Minilyrics (and other lyrics plugins) show them in windows designed to be shown on displays directly connected to the PC (second monitor/TV) and do not support sending Lyrics data over DLNA/UPnP/Chromecast. There is some initiative from MM team but that is still in R&D phase without even knowing if it will be possible to implement.

Re: Minilyrics support?
Thank you for your response. I will look into this.
Re: Minilyrics support?
Good afternoon, I am NOT a programmer or developer. However, I found the following information through a search with the help of someone who is. You may already have this information, but I am posting it in the event it may help.
1. Musixmatch Free with optional Premium Huge lyric-catalogue, synced lyrics, supports “casting local music + lyrics to TV with Chromecast” according to Play Store listing. (play.google.com)
While it supports many streaming services (Spotify, YouTube, Pandora etc) for lyrics, actual casting of lyrics + music to TV may depend on your device and network.
2. KaraFun Free‐trial / subscription Karaoke-style app, supports casting to Chromecast / external screen in help docs: “Use with Android devices … cast the screen … then open KaraFun …” (KaraFun)
More oriented for karaoke (sing along) than purely “music streaming + lyrics”. May require subscription for full library.
3. Stingray Karaoke Party Subscription (in-app) Karaoke party app; clearly states: “Cast to TV with Google Chromecast to cast lyrics to your TV.” (Stingray)
Designed for karaoke sessions rather than “regular music streaming + lyrics”. Might require purchase and full catalog may depend on region.
4. Smule Free with paid premium Social karaoke/singing app; while not strongly documented for Chromecast lyrics display, it may serve if you cast your device screen. Casting capabilities may be via screen-mirroring rather than native cast of lyrics. Less guaranteed.
5. LocalCast Free with pro upgrade More of a general casting app (media files, playlists) that supports casting music/video from phone to Chromecast. (Lifewire)
While good for casting local music, the “lyrics” overlay is not core; you’d need your own lyric files or another overlay.
6. OnSong Paid/pro-oriented Designed for lyric projection (for churches etc). Its manual states: “Chromecast can be used to project lyrics.” (OnSong)
It’s more niche (stage/projection) than mainstream music streaming; but useful if you want large-screen lyrics and have your own songs/lyrics.

Re: Minilyrics support?
I looked a little more into apps that supports UPnP/DLNA and Chromecast and found the following. Again, not being a programmer or developer, I don't know if this is helpful or not.
Updated Recommendation (Based on What’s Currently Possible)
Given the tools that do exist (or are actively maintained), here’s what I’d lean toward now:
• Use Neutron on Windows for your primary playback: for its audio quality + casting flexibility + LRC lyric support.
• If you want to see synced lyrics on your TV / Chromecast, still use a secondary / mirrored approach: run a lyrics-display app or lyric viewer on your PC (or browser) and mirror that to the Chromecast.
• Use BubbleUPnP Server (or similar) if needed to make your network architecture more flexible (especially for DLNA casting).
Open-Source / GitHub Projects to Watch
Here are some open-source projects (or libraries) that are relevant, plus their gaps / potential:
QuickBeat A more fully-featured Windows music player. From its GitHub: supports UPnP/DLNA servers + renderers, plus LRC / synced lyrics. GitHub
This is probably the closest: native Windows app, casting support, and lyric sync. But it's still under development / not super mature.
QuickBeat seems most promising for your use case. It supports UPnP/DLNA and LRC-synced lyrics per its feature list. GitHub If you’re okay using an app that’s still in active development / somewhat niche, this might be the best bet.

Re: Minilyrics support?
Hi,
I have tested majority of apps you listed, and have not found (if you have tested example I'll be glad to see it, excluding KaraFun and standard in Karaoke past 20+ years) any app that can in realtime render lyrics and cast.
NOTE: MM 2026 will have support for synced lyrics (Research source of that test feature leaked accidentally in one of the MM 2024 builds, but rescheduled for MM 2026 due the high complexity and many many bugs) and you can send it to external screen.
Only App I have found and personally only good way to do the Karaoke is to pre-render video with lyrics and based on my brief test https://lyricvideo.studio/ alongside Karafun. Maybe, but only maybe there are some ideas on how to do it, but not fully sure that it will be possible without high end beast of PC configuration, that simply is not for common/casual use.
If you have other ideas suggestions I'll be very glad to test and review them.

Re: Minilyrics support?
I'd assume that Chromecast doesn't support this, so the only method would to convert audio and Lyrics to video and cast that instead. MediaMonkey can't do this (and I doubt would support this in the future), or you need to screencast.
