No Artwork stored for any ripped albums, artists or tracks

Post by jellyuser »

Windows10, New install of MM
Ripped 15 albums to FLAC and I noticed there's no artwork for Artists or albums or tracks. Check tagging, and 'set to save image to file folder'. I keep seeing an error message "Download error" - no other info - any ideas. Ripped tracks play fine.

default

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
It can report Download Error, in case Highest quality Image fail to download, but it reties and you can check if file is saved then.

Also have you tried to embed Artwork in tags?

Are you attempting to tag Artwork prior to ripping the files from the CD (or after on the ripped files on your PC)? Are you seeing the issue using Auto-Tag? Which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey are you using?

Hi,

build is 2024.2.0.3184

I've used MMW previously but never had any problems so only skimmed the surface so not sure what "embed Artwork in tags" means - sorry. I assume this replaces the old folder.jpeg?

All I've done is take the CD, ripped it (with 'save image to tag and file folder' set) and no artwork is shown for albums and the vast majority of the artists. I Some are small time bands but some should exist.

I use Jellyfin media server and I'm ripping into a folder which is also a Jellyfin Library. I can't imaging that is an issue but just in case I've created a different ripping folder not seen by Jellyfin. So new 'clean' folder, switched from MusicBrainz to feedb. Ripped Bob Dylan and Aerosmith and artwork appeared. The artists have largely been filled in (most correct) but none of the ripped album's artwork has appeared and image search fins nothing/ Still getting 'download errors' whenever I rip or try to search for artwork.

It sounds like you didn't do an Artwork lookup. Inserting a CD and ripping it doesn't include Artwork.

There is an option for auto-lookup, but that's triggered when you view the ripped files in MediaMonnkey.

Hi,

Thanks for your help. The issue I've been seeing is clearly my eclectic tastes seemingly (UK Blues etc.). Most of the CDs are not in the databases and certainly not the artwork. Following the autotag->cd lookup->Rip gets the key data and the artwork has to follow (via photos and adding the artwork). Post closed :)
