Bug: Shuffle only shuffles "from then on"

Post by Yerushalmi »

If I have Shuffle: On, and I double-click on any song anywhere (in the main Music node, under a specific Artist, inside a Playlist), all of the songs get loaded into Now Playing.

However, all of the songs *up to* the song that I double-clicked on are in order. All of the songs *after* the song I clicked on are shuffled.

So, for example, if the folder is arranged alphabetically, and I double-click on the first song that starts with the letter S, all of the songs that start with S or later in the alphabet will play in a random order. When it reaches the end, if "repeat all" is active, it'll go back to the top and play all of the rest of the songs in alphabetical order.

Example of what this looks like, where everything is in alphabetical order until the middle of the letter F and random afterwards: https://imgur.com/a/yuXAGAG

I'm on version 2024.2.1.3213, Windows 11

I'm not seeing this on latest 2024.2.2 RC, the playing file is put in first position and everything shows shuffled after this.

Aha, I figured it out.

I downloaded the debug version of 2024.2.2.3222 and found it was still happening. So I thought, maybe there's some setting I accidentally activated or deactivated?

Turns out, this is what happens when "Auto-DJ / 'Playing' list" has the setting of "Automatically retain all previous files in 'Playing' list".

I am sure that's not the intended behavior but now that I've changed it from All to 0 it puts the playing file in first position the way it should, so it doesn't matter anymore :)

Thanks!
