MM freeze when playing certain songs

Post by arcspin »

Hey,
I have had this problem for a couple of days now and it will not go away.

It started as I was playing a newly added folder with mp3-songs.
When I was trying to add the album to my Now Playing list MM freezes and is impossible to access at all.
I have to shut MM down and when I try to play the same song again the same thing happens, MM frezzes up.

Other song works just fine whitout any problem and the " bad" songs are playable in Winamp with no problem.

I have tried to uninstall plugins but the problem is still there.
I have tried to rescan the album with no success.
I Have tried to maintain the library without any luck.

Is there anyone out there how have had the same experience and how did you solve it ???

Best regards,
//Peter

Advanced Duplicate Find & Fix Find More From Same - Custom Search. | Transfer PlayStat & Copy-Paste Tags/AlbumArt between any tracks.
Tagging Inconsistencies Do you think you have your tags in order? Think again...
Play History & Stats Node Like having your Last-FM account stored locally, but more advanced.

Does it freeze when you add the songs to the Now Playing list or when you try to play them?

You could try to create a debug log as described in the Bug forum as this will hopefully give enough details about the problem that's occurring.

It freezes when I add

Hey,
Yep, when I add songs to the now playing list....MM freezes up completley.

I will try out Bex idea and do the debug routine....

Just when I had finished tagging my music collection, this happens

This is how it unfolded

I tried to replace the standard mp3 plugin with the mad plugin.
I did receive, on the positive side, a better sound with the mad plug in, but that didn't solve my problem...so....

I took away my MONKEYROK script and that did it...songs I couldn't play before were now playable.

The MONKEYROK script somehow makes my MM to freeze on certain songs...all the time.

Has anyone had that experience ?

Thanx for your replys

No I don't have this issue with MonkeyRok. The bad news is that the MonkeyRok script is in an alpha stage and is no longer being developed. This is a shame as it seems that many people enjoy it very much.

Announced in Scripts and Components forum, Trixmoto has gained permission from original author to continue to develop Monkeyrok.

Very good news indeed

That's great news, I like MonkeyRok a lot too and with Trixmoto at the helm it can only get better.
