Can I transfer WMA files in MM to a Ipod - Might sell ZEN

Post by Peabody67gto »

HI,
I started using MM when I got my Creative Zen Movie 30 GB player. I am having so many problems with the Zen that I am thinking of selling & getting a IPOD. I wanted the Zen because some of the reviews said it was better then the Ipod & I am the type of person that wants to be different then everybody & their grandmothers with Ipods.
I cannot use my USB 2.0 post with the zen when I use MM or WMP. The only way I can transfer files at 2.0 is with Windows Explorer and drag and drop files. I wanted to control the Zen with a new head unit I want to buy for my car & cannot do it with the Zen but with Ipod you can see the files on the head units display and do not have to touch the Ipod. I bought a Altec Dock and of course the ipod goes into it without any problems but with the zen I cannot use the dock but can play the music using the mini plug. It just seems like all the extra's are made for the Ipod.
Still thinking of selling my Zen & getting an Ipod. If I do it can I transfer my WMA files in MM to the ipod or do I have to convert them to ACC files used in Itunes.
SORRY SO LONG
THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE HELP I GET ON THIS FORUM...

you can't play wma on the iPod, you'll have to convert them to mp3's.

Which, being a lossy to lossy format conversion, will sound terrible.

You don't want an iPod anyway.

Rather than that you should get a Meizu, there interface is a lot like the iPod, plus it has more features and it has a touch pad thing a lot like the iPod except not circular.

Not necessarily, it depends on how well you can hear. I've done conversions like this for a few songs and can't notice the difference.

Yes, and if you keep the bitrate of the mp3 pretty high, say 160 kbps, not as much is lost either. I changed a lot of music from wma to mp3 a long time ago, and I've never had a huge problem with it either.

After allthe iPods aren't as bad! They have a great design and interface, support gapless&Replaygaoin (kind of) and have a big support of software. For example there a different programms to upload your listend songs to last.fm for example. I'm happy with it.
