In case anyone is having the same issue, I fixed it by turning on the following playlist options on the galaxy s3 profile...
"use unicode (UTF-8 encoding) for M3U playlists", "Use extended M3U", and "Use Linux folder separator" and sync seems to be working perfectly.

Could you please find out which of these settings does the trick?
I guess we should change the defaults for Android profiles based on these results.

OK I'll do a little research.
Re: Error. There was a problem syncing the following item(s)
I am having the same problem with a Verizon Motorola Maxx, and I noticed all the ones that could not copy had special characters like , ' or &.
Any trick on where to change the settings on my phone or one the computer to get these to sync. They sync'ed with the previous version and I have the latest version right now.
The groups are like "10,000 Blind Maniacs-Blind Man's Zoo" and "Adam & Chris"
Previously, I also used /Music/Artist/Album/track# Track Name, but this time I used /Music/Artist-Album/track# Track Name, so is it the characters or the change in format?

Re: Error. There was a problem syncing the following item(s)
I found when I went back to /Music/Artist/Album/track# Track Name it sync'ed fine. Special characters and all, so the problem appeared to be the name length or something about the format /Music/Artist-Album/track# Track Name.
Since my car stereo has only one line to display, /Music/Artist-Album/track# Track Name or even /Music/Artist-Album-track# Track Name would be nice, but I got the music on!

UTF-8 and Linux separator should be set; those are both native to Android. I don't think extended-M3U makes a difference.Ludek wrote:I guess we should change the defaults for Android profiles based on these results.
Android devices should also have FLAC "supported" by default.
Re: Error. There was a problem syncing the following item(s)
Most common FLAC support is from 4.x.x is native. Unless it is not removed by manufacturer (I've seen some sony phones in past that do not play FLAC).
Re Extended: Extended M3U are common for Winamp where Playlist contain basic file info so that Player do not read file tags directly unless user click on them or are scanned in background, but they are read from Playlists.

What I meant is, FLAC should appear automatically in the list of supported formats for the device profile. Sony users are clearly in a minority.Peke wrote:Most common FLAC support is from 4.x.x is native. Unless it is not removed by manufacturer (I've seen some sony phones in past that do not play FLAC).

This has been already fixed as http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=10761 in build 1633, but you need to use [Reset device options...] or re-create new profile.mcow wrote:What I meant is, FLAC should appear automatically in the list of supported formats for the device profile. i.e. it is not affecting existing profiles

Ludek, I'm creating a new profile for the new builds. After wiping & installing on the tablet, and selecting a sync server, this screenshot is what MMW shows me for the new device. FLAC is not listed.Ludek wrote:This has been already fixed as http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=10761 in build 1633, but you need to use [Reset device options...] or re-create new profile.mcow wrote:What I meant is, FLAC should appear automatically in the list of supported formats for the device profile. OK, in that case the only about what I could think of is that MM doesn't detect your device as android device for some reason.
Could you generate debug log (item 4b here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=6&t=341 ) of these steps:
1) Unplug the device
2) Go to Options -> Portable Device Sync -> select the corresponding profiles -> Click [Delete] button
3) Plug the device
4) Save the log from DbgView
Thx.

I don't use USB, and I'm not going to connect that way because I don't want the Samsung drivers on my system. This is a wi-fi connection; MMW knows about the device because MMA established the connection.
Re: Error. There was a problem syncing the following item(s)
You are true, when profile is created over WiFi then FLAC is not added.
This is because FLAC is supported only on Android 3.1+ and we don't have the API version info when creating profile via WiFi.
Because older Android systems are dying ( http://developer.android.com/about/dash ... index.html ), I guess we could add FLAC as supported by default.
