Track Volume not auto updating [#18934]

Post by MPG »

Hi,
When I add new music to my collection, I want the Track Volume to be automatically updated. In the settings I have the following checked:
Only analyze files with unknown leveling adjustment
When analyzing Track volume, also analyze Album volume
Automatically analyze volume of unanalyzed files: Audio/Video

Music is added to my collection in the following way:
1) I move new songs into a "holding" folder that is continuously monitored my MM5
2) Update the metadata on those songs
3) Move the songs into the main collection which is also continuously monitored.

When the songs are moved into the "holding" folder, the track volume is not being updated. I know the songs are being picked up by MM5 as the auto playlist for that folder is populated.

I'm sure it's just a setting somewhere, can anyone provide direction?
TIA

When I remove the track volume (-999999) it doesn't automatically reanalyze (even after restart).
I have to trigger Analyze Volume manually.
It's a BUG?

I have the same boxes checked as you.

Something I've noticed is that if I shut down and restart MM, the track volume is updated. If the songs are moved to the "holding folder" while MM is open, they are added to the library, however, the track volume is not updated.

I can't seem to replicate. The auto-analyze thread is automatically started immediatelly after every scan or a manual addition of the track to the library (related to https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=18664 )

Checking the code the only reason for this to not work is that this feature seems Gold only (for registered users) -- seems a survival from MM4. Are you registered user?

Also, how exactly you are clearing the Track/Album volume values and can you supply a sample track that fails to analyze volume once is added to library?

Hello Ludek,

The problem is solved for me. Now I realize: "AutoLeveling" is a GOLD-feature.
I am using MM5 Free version - unregistered.
Thanks for the hint.
