When do you get this and on which Build (Help > About)?
The underlying port message indicates that MediaMonkey was already/still running when you launched it again.

Re: i'm getting this error message
is the problem when MediaMonkey Service is running or if you're trying to close MediaMonkey with a background process running? Also which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey on which version of Windows?

Re: i'm getting this error message

I think you're missing the point. I get that long error message when I try to do various things. If I go to restart it brings up a background process. The last time @Peke worked on the app for me it was because this Shades of Gray skin was buggy.

Hi,
Try to rename persistent.json (it will reset UI) and see if problem is still present.
Also try latest MM 5.1 Portable http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 86639&sd=d maybe there was a bug we already fixed.

Close MediaMonkey, rename persistent.json to persistent.json.old and then start MMW.

That seemed to work. I've never been happier to see the Candy Corn Vomit skin. Thanks.

Hi,
If you still have that renamed persistent.json, can you ZIP it and s\attach to support ticket so that we can try to replicate crash?
