"Select All" Menu Item Disappears [#20166]

Hi,

Minor menu issue. I routinely select all files in the library to generate a whole if library file report as part of an export to a larger process. I have noticed that the "Select All Ctrl+A" menu item under "Edit" only appears the first time that the Edit menu is accessed. Note that this problem is for the menu item only, the keyboard shortcut seems to be reliable.

To get the Select All menu item to show you have to:

• have All Tracks showing in the media tree, and

• click on a file in the centre file list panel or the now playing list at right, and

• click on the edit menu

If you click on anything else first, like another menu (eg View, Play, Tools etc) or another media tree entry (Albums, Genres etc) then the Select All menu item does not show, even though the Ctrl+A keyboard shortcut still works to select all of the items displayed in the centre panel.

Given that Ctrl+A always works then I can only think that this disappearing behaviour of the Select All menu item is not intended. If so, making it appear reliably might be a simple way of removing one more wrinkle from the UI.

Sorry, don't know how do make a screen capture video, will look into it. In the meantime, this always works for me:

To show the Select all option:

• Click on file in main file list

• Click on Edit menu - "Select all" appears at top of menu list.

To not show the select all option:

• Click on file in main file list

• Click on Tools (or any tab other than Edit) so that the menu displays

• Click on Edit menu - "Select all" does not appear.

OR

• Click on file in main file list

• Click on Edit menu - "Select all" appears at top of menu list

• With menu showing and no clicks, move cursor across to another menu topic (eg View), other menu shows

• Move cursor back to Edit menu with no clicks - Edit menu shows but "Select all" is missing from the menu.
