I recently picked up Olivia Newton-John's "Greatest Hits 2" CD and was rather surprised at the result when I Auto-tagged it.
Out of 14 tracks, 13 were "associated" with her album "Physical".
Of those 13, only six tracks actually appeared on the album.
This makes me wonder how much can I really trust the auto-tag process?

Re: [3057] Auto-tag accuracy
Auto-tag, by default, has 'Allow compilations' disabled (in which case it will try to find the earliest instance of an album containing a track). So if you want it to find a greatest hits or other compilation album, enable that option.
Question: did it recommend 'Physical' for any tracks not on the 'Physical' album?

Re: [3057] Auto-tag accuracy
Yes, it claimed seven tracks were on the album when in fact they are not,
Allow compilations' is disable (although auto-tag keeps selecting compilation albums sometimes).

Re: [3057] Auto-tag accuracy
Hi George,
I've tested with a number of compilation albums and:
- if 'Allow compilations' is enabled, auto-tag correctly resolves the album in most cases. Did you try this out and does this work for you?
- if 'Allow compilations' is disabled, in most cases auto-tag correctly resolves tracks to the earliest instance of the track on an album. The cases that don't work well are generally when the track length of a more recent recording doesn't correspond to the track length of an earliest instance of the track's recording--though there may be some room for improvement as described at https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=21240
Since I can't replicate the issue that you reported, can you open a ticket and share a link to a zip of 'Physical' CD's tracks for me to test?

When I try to create a ticket, all I get is a spinning wheel (Firefox/Chrome)
