Using MediaMonkey v2024.0.0.3064 RC-4.
If the track number is entered as "xx/yy" (tracknum/total) then the '/yy' part can never be removed from the file. Overwriting the tag does not help, MM will not show it anymore but it will still be saved in the tag.
To reproduce:
- Enter "01/10" as track number in MM. MM wil show track as "01/10". Hex editor or MP3Diags will show track as "01/10".
- Using that same file, enter "02" as track number in MM. MM wil show track as "02". Hex editor or MP3Diags will show track as "02/10".
- Using that same file, enter "03/04" as track number in MM. MM wil show track as "03/04". Hex editor or MP3Diags will show track as "03/04/10".
- Using that same file, make track number empty in MM. MM wil show track as "" (empty). Hex editor or MP3Diags will show track as "/04/10".
..etc.
The /yy parts will only ever grow larger, but MM will not show them. This happens with mp3 files that use ID3v2.3 UTF-16, maybe other encodings too.
