Audio not playing when a new track is played [#21501]

Post by John Jonas »

Hello!

Love mediamonkey and longtime user, but this is my first time submitting an issue.

When one song ends, the next song begins to play according the the UI however there is no audio. I have to hit the back button to restart the song and get the audio to play or I can skip to the next song and it will play. This issue happens somewhat consistently but is intermittent. It does seem to be isolated to when one track ends and the next one begins. I cannot reproduce the issue when skipping to the next track or going back so as far as I can tell it only happens when the system moves to the next song. This is becoming problematic because I am having to hit back nearly every time the system moves to the next song.

I did confirm I have the most recent version available installed via the app store. This issue only presents itself on the mobile app. I have not had this issue using my PC.

I am using a Pixel Fold and have the most recent OS updates installed.

Thank you!

Please set Audio transitions to None. Does that resolve the issue?

I changed it from 'gapless' to 'none' and that appears to have resolved the issue.

Thank you!

Reach out to their support team, they should be able to help identify and fix the issue. In the meantime, the manual back/skip workaround should get you through.

fyi, this is partially fixed (we're still working on another case it which it can occur) in beta build 2.0.4.1227.

To test out the beta build:
- in MMA, tap Options > About | Register for test builds.
Once registered, your next update will be to the current MMA beta. To update immediately, go to MediaMonkey in the Play store and tap 'Update'.

We expect it to be fully fixed in a subsequent build this week.

UPDATE:
A full fix is in 2.0.4.1229 which was submitted to the Play Store as a Beta earlier today (approval normally takes 1-2 days). To test out the beta tap Options > About | Register for test builds. Or wait a few more days for the official release.

In the meantime, the workaround is to disable Options > Playback > Audio transitions > Gapless.

EDIT: replaced by 2.0.4.1230

Update: build 1230 has been approved by Google and is now available to all Beta testers. We expect it to become available to all other users in a couple of days.
