UPnP casting on 2.0.6 [#21637, #21171]]
I keep getting the seconds move back and forth from 0 to 1 and then back again. Losing hope...
Re: Updated Latest Beta v2.0.6 etc.
Hi,
Thanks for the report. We're not seeing this on our test devices, so I'm hoping your can help me narrow this down:
- Are you seeing this when playing tracks locally? Or is it only when casting or playing via Android Auto? Or is it related to playing tracks from a UPnP server?
- Is it solely a display problem? Or is the audio jumping back and forth between 0s and 1s of the track?
- Does the issue occur for all tracks or only certain formats?
- Does disabling gapless playback make a difference?
Lastly can you tell me what device / version of Android it's occurring with?
Thanks!

Casting from S24+ phone in MMA to Marantz 1711. The audio stops after the track in question [many times now]. I think all formats. I will have to disable gapless to test.rusty wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 6:14 pm Hi,

Gapless On/Off does not seem to matter. Maybe @Peke could do a remote session and make sure you have all the information you want/need?

Hmmm, maybe. Contact me privately, so that we can arrange meeting.TheEmpathicEar wrote: ↑Sat Jun 07, 2025 5:08 pm Gapless On/Off does not seem to matter. Maybe @Peke could do a remote session and make sure you have all the information you want/need?

OK, so 2.0.6 includes a completely new UPnP stack. It fixes many issues, but there may be some regressions for certain devices.TheEmpathicEar wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 7:17 pm Casting from S24+ phone in MMA to Marantz 1711. Can you replicate the issue, and then submit a debug log?
In the menu, tap Help > Send logs and share the log ID here.
That'll hopefully give us enough information to solve it.
Thanks!

p.s. if anyone else is experiencing UPnP casting issues with 2.0.6, please report here with a debug log. Thanks!

Re: UPnP casting on 2.0.6 [#21637]
I also have a problem with Upnp casting. In the playing queue I have some 12 songs. I start the first song and then the player will skip some (variable) number of songs and finally starts playing a song somewhere in the queue.
I also use Bubbleupnp and there the Upnp casting works OK for the same songs.
Renderer: Wiim Ultra
I have submitted a log file: Log ID: K12GDZKRLN (for the first time, hopes it contributes)

Hi Bastiaan57,
Thanks for the log--we're going to look into it.
Can you tell me though, does the first track that is skipped _always_ skip? If that particular file always triggers a skip, can you tell me what type of file is it (i.e. mp3, m4a, flac, etc. and what bitrate/etc.)?
Thanks!

Re: UPnP casting on 2.0.6 [#21637]
I've done some testing:
- Filetypes: flac and mp3, Bitrates: mp3-320, flac16/44, 24/44, 24/88, 24/96
- I have not found any difference in behaviour between filetype or bitrate.
- Yes, the first track always skips. But the track that eventually plays is highly unpredictable. Many times all tracks are skipped.
- When a track plays 'normal' and I press 'next song', the skipping will again occur.
- I have not found a common denominator in the tracks that eventually starts playing.
- The error occurs both on my phone and on my tablet (Android 11 and Android 14)
- On my Wiim Ultra I can also cast to Chromecast: no problem.

Casting to Marantz w/ Latest Beta Build 1268
I submitted two logs from MMA. There both should be in the same log file, but I forgot about something. I can cast to Marantz 1711. But, it will on play the first track of those selected and them stop. Also, the counter on the left side goes back and forth from 0 to 1 and vice-versa. I will try to remember the Log file IDs or whatever there called.

Re: Build 1273 still has playback issue
Hi,
Can you explain what playback issue you're referring to?
Also, debug log F3PAL6D83V doesn't appear to have been submitted. Can you share the zip file if you have it? Your best bet is to open a ticket and share it or a link to it.
Thanks!
