I'm currently still running MM5 v5.0.4.2690.
I am running it on a Laptop with Windows 11 Pro.
The Laptop does not have a built-in CD/DVD device so I plug in an external device via USB.
Earlier this year I upgrade to MM2024.
Problem with the upgrade was that it took over the CD/DVD/BD device. Whenever I plugged it in, it would show MediaMonkey as part of the description. Everytime I put in a disc including DVD movies MM would pop up.
I went into Windows System and ensured that the device would "Ask" when it was used. Sorry for the sketchy details, it's been awhile. Anyway I couldn't take control, nobody else was reporting it so I thought I'd wait and keep checking the forum for the issue to pop up. I don't think it did.
So my questions are:
Has anybody else had this problem?
Does anybody know if the problem still exists?

That should be manageable in the Windows Auto-Play settings.

Hi,
I do not have Win 11, but I tested on Win 10 with 3 different USB CD drives and can't replicate.
Especially as I changed Auto-Play settings.

Thank you Peke.
I searched the internet yet again but this time I might have got lucky.
Somebody was having a similar problem with an iPhone.
The solution was to go into Windows Device Manager, find the device, uninstall the driver then reconnect the iPhone.
I'll give upgrading another go and see what happens.
This might take one or two weeks though.
