Deleting from database only behavior

It seems that when I remove songs with Delete from database only they are readded when I reopen mediamonkey.
I do have my music folder to scan on startup and continuously and it is an auto playlist that I am using the delete from.

I just want to remove the songs from the database and keep the files.
So is it due to the rescanning?

You can't unless you move the files to a location not selected to be scanned.
