I just upgraded to MMA 2.1.0.1277 on a Brax3 deGoogled phone running IodeOS from the Aurora store. I paid for it a while ago but I can't run the paid version on a de-Googled phone.
I was playing tracks and I'm getting the message "Skipping Track (Missing CODEC)". Is there a way to see what tracks were skipped because of the missing CODEC?
UPDATE: seems like playlist processing is messed up. SongX was playing, I pressed forward to go to next Song, then hit back to return to the previous song, it stayed at 0:00 then crashed. I relaunched, it played said "Skipping Track (Missing CODEC)", it advances to the next song, I hit back and got stuck at 0:00, skipped the track, went to the next track, then I pressed back again and it played. So, it's giving that error message on tracks that obviously do play, and it's super buggy during all playback since i get random crashes.
UPDATE 2: if I press the pause button while a song is playing, it says "Skipping Track (Missing CODEC)". This now happens every time. And... there is no way to stop playback! It just keep playing songs after skipping the current one.

Hi, unfortunately, we didn't get your log VSLFM1LJ6J for an unknown reason. Could you please try sending it again after you replicate the issue?
Can you clarify whether the CODEC issue is related to local playback or casting via UPnP?
What type of audio transition do you use? (gapless, crossfade, or none)
Isn't the issue related to a specific track format, e.g., WMA?

Unfortunately I can't resend. I had to uninstall MMA because it wouldn't stop playing. It would randomly start playing at the worst times and the only way to stop it was uninstalling it. Maybe at some point I can try to reinstall it.martin.bohac wrote: ↑Wed Sep 24, 2025 6:01 am Hi, unfortunately, we didn't get your log VSLFM1LJ6J for an unknown reason. The CODEC issue was related to local playback, MP3's off an SD card.
The audio transition appeared to be None, but I'm not sure because I never modified it.
It was not related to any track format. It happened every single time on any track.

Hi,
When it happens to you again, insteaad of sending it you can save ZIP file to your phone and send it later for us to analyze.
Behavior is strange, I tried today this:
1. Synced 2000 files to SDCard
2. Inserted SD card to PC
3. Batch Damaged all MP3 files (deleted MP3 headers and some audio data and filled it with zeros) to make them unplayable even on PC
4. Inserted SDCard back to Phone, started playback of 2000 files (Repeat on)
5. After approximately 10s of cycling around 300 track I pressed pause and playback stopped.
6. Connected SDCard back to PC
7. Corrupted exFAT table so that files can't be correctly read
8. Inserted to Phone again
9. Opened MMA -> Whole phone locked -> Hard Reset
10. After restart -> Unistalled MMA -> accessed SDCard from File manager -> tried to play one track with native plaayer -> Phone locked -> Hard Reset
11. After 2h testing I formatted Formatted SDCard -> Synced Again -> All OK tracks are playable.
NOTE: I guess only thing that was different is that I used 8GB SDCard for easier manipulation.
You should check SDCard with app like https://www.grc.com/ValiDrive.htm and see if there is any issue with it.

I'll try it again in the future. By the way, the SD card is fine. When I playback in VLC it works perfectly. No stuttering or any other issues. It kinda sucks for playlist loading because it parses out metadata from each track in the playlist everytime you select a playlist, which takes a couple of minutes, but VLC does work.Peke wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 2:55 pm Hi,

Hi,
Interesting, please keep us posted. We would like to get to bottom of issue.
Also, please note that VLC uses own custom codecs and is more robust on corrupted files. We plan that MMA eventually use own codecs instead of native one.
You can test also by changing Playback engine in MMA options to EXO player.
