cant assign ratings

I am trying to assign ratings to songs. I assign ratings to about 8 songs.
They disappear from the unrated list and i see they have the rating i assigned.
(I dont see a save command. I tried f5 refresh.)
I exit the program and the next time i run the program they are unrated again.
I have assigned ratings to some of these songs 4-5 times and they are still unrated the next time i run the program. (Current version, gold)

Which Build (Help > About) are you using, which node in the Media Tree are you using, what file types are you rating, are you scanning files on startup and where are the files stored?
