Moving MP3's from USB to HD
Hello,
I would like to copy all my external USB HD to the local HD. I know how to do that, but how do I do it and still keep all my playlists working correctly?
thx!

Re: Moving MP3's from USB to HD
I wrote a guide that tells how to do this:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... w_computer
Alternately you can use the method described at MM support:

No. Neither solution will work for a situation like that. You should move it from F:\mp3 to C:\mp3. After you get your database all squared away using either of the above options, you can use auto-organize to move the tracks where you like them.homersheineken wrote:Thanks. Man, I just can't anything with MM to work today.
The script doesn't appear in "Tools | Scripts" after editing the scripts ini file and creating the vbs file

Are you sure you saved the scripts.ini file? Did you restart MM after making the changes? Really MM should be closed when editing that file.homersheineken wrote:Man, I just can't anything with MM to work today.The script doesn't appear in "Tools | Scripts" after editing the scripts ini file and creating the vbs file

Positive. I reopened it up and it's in the scripts.ini file. I'm pretty sure MM was closed when changing it. What can I do if it wasn't (although I'm pretty sure)?nohitter151 wrote:Are you sure you saved the scripts.ini file? Did you restart MM after making the changes? Re: Moving MP3's from USB to HD
You're sure it isn't in the MM menu? It would be listed as "Move device content".

Okay, well what did you paste into scripts.ini?

Re: Moving MP3's from USB to HD
Yes I pasted this into it at the bottom (also tried the middle of the file too so see if that would change anything):nohitter151 wrote:Okay, well what did you paste into scripts.ini?
[HDDSerial]
FileName=MM_HDDSerial.vbs
ProcName=Change_HDD_Serial
Order=99
DisplayName=Move Device Content
Description=Corrects broken links after exchanged harddrive
Language=VBScript
ScriptType=0
Also, for the vbs file, are you supposed to paste everything in there after selecting all (including the numbered steps)?

No, that's exactly what should be pasted in the file. The only other thing I can think is where is the scripts.ini file that you are editing?

I don't know, it doesn't make sense that it wouldn't show up. I guess since you are having such a hard time you can instead try the method described at the MM support website.homersheineken wrote:C:\Program Files (x86)\MediaMonkey\Scriptsnohitter151 wrote:No, that's exactly what should be pasted in the file.
