So when I try to burn audio CDs (which burn the tracks fine)
the options button for adding text, filenames, tags, artwork etc does nothing when clicked
the box cannot be checked
Writer supports text writing (LG Super Multi Writer)
and writes fine (includes disc name and file name data) when using other Apps (Nero, ConvertX, etc)
I am Logged on as a User I have an Admin Account I do not run Media Monkey as Administrator
however I don't run the other programs as Admin either and they work fine
OS is Windows 7 Pro (64-bit)
I am also getting::: Error Winamp Interface ....Port couldn't be opened
Lately , never seen this error before

Re: CDs are burning without any tags or filenames
I guess you mean CD-text. Filenames/tags/artwork aren't supported for audio CDs, they have to adhere to redbook standard format.

Re: CDs are burning without any tags or filenames
Ohhhh Brother did you not read my post before responding
I have nero 8 I know for a fact that my writer supports all formats
I know for a fact that I can log on as administrator and check the box
and the text and data are written and show up just as it does in MM library
the glitch is that I cannot check this box when running as my day to day user
I do not want to have to log in as admin everytime I want to burn a disc
please do not reply to posts unless you READ and understand the issue

Re: CDs are burning without any tags or filenames
So no one seems to understand or care to help me with
the burning file names and other data issue
so I figured it out and will share what to do for any other
Windows 7 or other users that are having the same issue
Here's what I did
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have an administrator account from which the write CD Text box is accessible as is the options button
1. so I set this the way I wanted and burned a disc just to make sure it was working right
2. Then I closed media monkey
3. Then go to the .ini file in Windows 7 this is the path >>>>> C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\MediaMonkey
(put your user name for <USER> or just browse there , by default this folder (appdata) is hidden )
4. Open the MediaMonkey.ini file and scroll to the burning section
5. I then copied the entire burning section part and opened and pasted it to my regular user .ini file and hit save
6. Logged out as administrator and logged on as User openend Monkey which took longer than normal the first time
7. Burned disc and Viola options were available
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since I did the work and supposing you are having this issue and you know for a fact that your writer can write text
Here is the quick fix
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
0. Make sure Media Monkey is closed (no running processes)
1. Open AppData and find your MediaMonkey.ini file and open it (notepad)
C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\MediaMonkey
(Where <USER> is your user name )
2. Copy and paste the following to overwrite the '"Burn'" Part of your .ini file
3. Save and Close the file and Log off and on and then Start Media Monkey .....Happy Burning .... Burner

Re: CDs are burning without any tags or filenames
I'm having the same problem but inconsistently. Some CDs I burn will not write text (song titles) to the tracks. I don't know what is causing this.
I will try your solution.
